About Jenna

Jenna Fairchild

Assistant Ecologist

Jenna is an assistant ecologist who joined the Ecology Co-op in March 2024. She holds an MSc in Ecology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, where she completed research focussed on identifying valuable foraging habitat for Pipisrellus genus bats. She has experience in non-invasive survey methods, including the monitoring of bats and birds via bioacoustic recorders, and invertebrates via camera traps and quadrant surveys. She is also qualified to conduct organ dissection of fish for ecotoxicology and environmental pollutant testing.

Jenna’s main interests include bats, reptiles, and amphibians, and she is looking towards attaining her GCN and Bat Level 1 licenses. She also has an interest in restoration ecology, developed during her studies, which has since expanded to include Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).

Outside of work, Jenna enjoys travelling, photography, wild swimming, and crafting.
